‘Lost in Love’, is the new production by Natasha Hardy in association with 7 Star Arts and The Hap’ning Place.  A guaranteed immersive aural experience, you are invited to join Natasha as her special guest for an evening of wonderful entertainment. 

By candlelight, Natasha will sing classic Italian love songs and her favourite operatic arias accompanied by the amazing Stefano Marzanni.  Natasha will perform the debut of her self penned compositions for soprano and strings from her forthcoming album with the delectable Jasmine String Ensemble.  The production will also include wonderful poetry readings by our special guest Actor, Susan Porrett and piano solos from Stefano Marzanni.

ABOUT THE PERFORMERS

Natasha Hardy is a soprano whose eclectic repertoire seeks to demystify the traditional operatic world. Trained in both Classical and Contemporary traditions, her maverick approach has seen her work on several classically inspired projects, most recently an intriguing concert series of her favourite operatic works as well as those she has penned herself.

English born Natasha trained as a dental nurse and worked in London’s prestigious Harley Street, before moving into the performing arts. As the noisiest of four children, she thought her calling was to be an actress, and started singing to add a feather to her bow.  It was not until she discovered her passion for singing that she got the opportunity to really step into the spotlight. This combination for both music and theatre form the basis of her unique style; she has been highly praised for her remarkable stage presence, dramatic approach and special rapport with the audience.

Whilst the works of Puccini occupy a special place in her heart, Natasha’s infectious belief in the captivating power of music has risen from her childhood influences of Simon & Garfunkel, Doris Day & Shirley Bassey, as well as musicians such as Prince, Quincy Jones, George Michael and the musical gems on the numerous Café del Mar albums.

A talented songwriter Natasha is currently working on her debut classical crossover album, and is penning the libretto for a new Children’s Opera she is writing with Eralys Fernandez. She has also recently completed composing and recording for Ferrari; Natasha was invited to write a melody with Italian lyrics, and record operatic vocals for a bespoke musical score for a new show entitled ‘Viva Ferrari’, which is currently being performed at Ferrari World, Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Natasha received a distinction in Popular Music Practice at the British Academy of New Music and is currently studying for her BA in Opera Studies at Rose Bruford College and Associated Studios. Her present voice tutor is Maryliese Happel of the Hap’ning Place Studios, and her tutors have included countertenor Mark Crayton from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, James Jansen, Eralys Fernandez and Patrick Leresche.

Natasha performs her bespoke Operatic Shows at private events & weddings and is currently organising a tour of her new show ‘Lost in Love’ which premieres on 30th April 2016, which will include classic Italian songs and her most recent compositions for soprano and string ensemble.

Pianist Stefano Marzanni has performed regularly across Europe, and is currently studying at the Royal College of Music, London for a Master of Performance with Dina Parakhina. His studies have been generously supported by a Kenneth and Violet Scott Award and Stefano is currently an RCM Award Holder supported by a Pidem Foundation Award.

Stefano was born in Brescia, Italy and received a Diploma in Piano (full marks with honors) from the Luca Marenzio Conservatorio, where he studied with Riccardo Bettini. He later completed the postgraduate course at the Conservatorio G.Verdi di Milano with Vincenzo Balzani. Stefano has received numerous prizes in national and international competitions, including First Prize in the Conservatorio G.Verdi di Milano Luisetti Competition and in the XVIII Città di Cortemilia Competition. He also received the Piano City Scholarship Milan 2013, a special prize for the best interpretation of a work by composer Luigi Manenti at the Camillo Togni Competition 2013, and Third Prize in the Nuova Coppa Pianisti Competition in Osimo 2013.

Stefano also performs regularly as a pop and jazz pianist with bands and in many theatrical productions.

 THE JASMINE STRING ENSEMBLE 

Beatriz is a passionate violinist and teacher based in London.  She began learning the violin aged 6 and entered the prestigious Conservatorio Superior de Musica de Aragon in Saragosse at the age of 17, completing the Bachelor degree with Pablo Suarez, leader of La Scala of Milan. In Spain she has performed at many major venues as part of both youth and professional orchestras. She has participated in masterclasses with Nicolas Chumachenco, Massimo Quarta, Catalin Bucataru, Clio Gould and Mi-Kyung Lee, among others. Beatriz studied quartet with Cuarteto Quiroga, and is currently a member of the highly active London based Isbilia Quartet, mentored by the Carducci Quartet and Wihan Quartet . She completed her postgraduate level studies at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, in London, with M.B.E. Professor Michael Bochmann, obtaining a Distinction. Beatriz is grateful for the support of Trinity College and Margaret Harris Scholarships. As from September 2015, she is studying a Postgraduate Artist Diploma under the tutorship of John Crawford.

Beatriz is keen to explore new directions including a violin duo, Duo Realia, recent winners of the “Trinity Laban Early Music Competition”, with violinist Kieran Burling, using video and social media whose aim is making chamber music more accessible and exciting using video and social media to engage with a wider audience.

A London-based violinist and teacher, Christiana Campbell began violin aged 7, and attended the Junior Royal Academy of Music; where she won 2^nd prize in the John McAslan violin competition.
Currently studying at Trinity Laban Conservatoire on the Masters programme under John Crawford, she was awarded the TCM Trust Scholarship on entry. She has also had Baroque violin lessons with Walter Reiter and plays in baroque group The Bellot Ensemble.

Christiana has led the Trinity Laban Sinfonia in concert, played in a string quartet which performed in the Wigmore Hall, and her playing has taken her as far as Greece; recently performing Greek folk music at a wedding.

She was a violinist on ITV X Factor finals for Louisa Johnson in 2015,  has played in venues such as Spice of Life with band pop/folk band Nou Enle,  and plays all over London with girl band Chiqas.  She enjoys pit work,  and plays in London based orchestras such as the YMSO and The Kantanti Ensemble. Christiana is also a keen violin teacher with many students; and has a distinction in the LTCL certificate for instrumental teaching.

Claudia Zimmermann is a versatile violist from Germany. She is currently on an exchange year with the Erasmus programme in London at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance studying with Richard Crabtree. Claudia started playing the violin at the age of three and changed to the viola eleven years later. Her passion for orchestral playing made her play in many youth orchestras in Germany such as “Landesjugendorchester Baden- Wuerttemberg”, “Junge Norddeutsche Philharmonie” and “Junge Deutsche Philharmonie”. Claudia   has taken masterclasses with Tabea Zimmermann and Krzysztof Chorzelski. From the beginning of her studies Claudia started to play in various chamber music groups with a wide range, from baroque ensembles to contemporary music.

Born in Hamburg in Germany, Alice Sophie received her first cello lessons from Year 1 in primary school. In 2008 she went to Wells Cathedral School in order to complete her A-Levels. Together with her teacher Penny Driver, she accomplished her Grade 8 Cello in 2010. In 2014 Alice achieved her Bachelor Degree of Music at the University of Aberdeen with the main emphasis on all three aspects: performance under the guidance of James Halsey (who mainly works at the RCM Junior Department), composition and dissertation. During her time in Scotland, Alice was involved in many orchestral projects such as the Edinburgh Youth Orchestra in 2013-2014 as well as in many chamber projects. During the Aboyne Cello Week, which is an annually cello course founded by James Halsey, she has enjoyed having masterclasses with Philip Higham (Cello Professor at the RNCM) as well as Alice Neary (Professor at the RWCMD). Upon her graduation Alice has taken a year out during which her main focus remained on her cello studies. During this year she has received private tuition with Leonid Gorokhov (Professor at the Hanover Conservatoire) and gathered experience in event management. Furthermore she has successfully achieved the Cambridge Proficiency Certificate of English C2 Level.

In September 2015 Alice started her two-year Master’s degree at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and receives tuition from Richard Markson. Throughout her time there so far, she has been involved in many chamber and orchestral projects both inside and outside of the conservatoire. Recent engagements have been the performance of the Chausson Concerto for piano, violin and String Quartet in Woking, a lunchtime concert in Cuckfield (West Sussex) as well as many concerts within the college.

Susan’s career includes seasons with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Royal Court & National Theatre and a long list of TV and film credits including Upstairs, Downstairs, Poirot, Foyles War, Mapp and Lucia and Alan Bennett’s A Private Function. She regularly performs in 7 Star Art’s productions of Divine Fire and Classic Gershwin.
